"I am looking for an honest man."
Documented Abuses and the Erosion of the Rule of Law
Like Diogenes wandering Athens with his lamp, searching for one honest man among the corrupt, this document shines a light on a pattern of conduct that demands examination. What follows is not opinion, but a compilation of official government reports, court records, DOJ press releases, and extensively vetted investigative journalism.
The evidence reveals: at least 30 shootings by immigration agents since January 2025, resulting in 8 deaths. It reveals ICE and CBP agents convicted of sexual assault, coercion, and child exploitation. It reveals blanket pardons for over 1,500 January 6th rioters—including child sex offenders and cop-beaters—while the administration claims to stand for "law and order." And it reveals a catastrophic release of Epstein documents that exposed victims' identities and nude photos, including images flagged as possible child sexual abuse material.
The rot runs deep. This report documents how deep.
I. Systemic Violence in Immigration Enforcement
Since January 20, 2025, there have been at least 30 shootings by immigration agents, resulting in 8 deaths [11]. The Wall Street Journal identified at least 13 instances of officers "firing at or into civilian vehicles" since July 2025 alone [11]. At least 5 of those shot were U.S. citizens.
A. The Dead
| Victim | Date | Location | Key Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renée Good (US Citizen) | Jan 7, 2026 | Minneapolis, MN | Shot 3 times by masked ICE agent. Was reversing then drove forward. Agents claimed she tried to ram them. |
| Alex Pretti (US Citizen) | Jan 24, 2026 | Minneapolis, MN | Shot at least 10 times. Video shows agents took his gun away BEFORE shooting him. Was holding a phone, not a weapon. |
| Keith Porter Jr. (US Citizen, Black) | Dec 31, 2025 | Los Angeles, CA | 43-year-old father of two. Killed by off-duty ICE agent on New Year's Eve. Family says he was celebrating, posed no threat. |
| Silverio Villegas González | Sep 12, 2025 | Chicago, IL | Shot and killed during traffic stop. ICE claimed he tried to hit them with vehicle. No body cameras. |
| Mexican man, 31 | Dec 11, 2025 | Rio Grande City, TX | Shot after allegedly fighting with CBP agents who tried to detain him. |
B. The Survivors
| Victim | Date | Location | Key Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marimar Martinez (US Citizen) | Oct 4, 2025 | Chicago, IL | Shot 5 times. All charges dismissed. Agent later bragged about shooting in text messages. |
| Carlos Jimenez (US Citizen) | Oct 30, 2025 | Ontario, CA | Stopped to warn ICE about children in area. Shot while doing a 3-point turn. |
| TikTok streamer | Oct 21, 2025 | Los Angeles, CA | ICE agent's gun "went off" — also hit a US Marshal. Indictment dropped. |
| Luis Moncada & Yorlenys Zambrano | Jan 8, 2026 | Portland, OR | Both shot by CBP. DHS claimed they were "suspected gang associates." |
| Unnamed Black man | Oct 17, 2025 | Washington, DC | HSI agent shot at unarmed man during traffic stop. Police report omitted the shooting entirely. |
| Man and 18-year-old son | Aug 16, 2025 | San Bernardino, CA | Masked agents broke car window, fired 3 shots. Man fled and called 911 not knowing who shot at him. |
"This is clearly developing into a pattern and practice of how they deal with people in the enforcement of immigration laws."
C. Wrongful Detention and Abuse of U.S. Citizens
A December 2025 Senate investigation found over 170 instances of ICE and CBP wrongfully detaining U.S. citizens in the first nine months of 2025 alone [3]. The government does not officially track this.
Documented abuses include:
- Fabricated assault claims against citizens to justify arrests [2]
- Holding citizens for up to four days without lawyers or family [2]
- Dragging people from cars, zip-tying a 14-year-old girl [2]
- Denying medical care to a 79-year-old man with broken ribs and recent heart surgery [3]
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem publicly claimed "No American citizens have been arrested or detained." The Senate investigation proved this demonstrably false [2].
II. The Agents Themselves: A Pattern of Predation
The violence is not limited to enforcement operations. ICE and CBP agents have been arrested, indicted, and convicted for sexual assault, coercion, child exploitation, and abuse of the vulnerable people in their custody. These are not isolated incidents—they are a pattern.
| Agent | Agency | Crime | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luis Uribe, 44 Pingree Grove, IL | CBP | Sexual assault & robbery of multiple women in Chicago suburbs while on duty. Brandished firearm. | Indicted Dec 2025. Faces 7 years to life. [12] |
| Andrew Golobic, 53 Cincinnati, OH | ICE | Used position to coerce sex from vulnerable immigrant women under his supervision. Destroyed evidence, tampered with witnesses. | Sentenced 12 years (Mar 2025) [13] |
| David Courvelle, 56 Basile, LA | ICE (contractor) | Sexually abused Nicaraguan detainee multiple times in janitorial closet. Used other detainees as lookouts. | Pled guilty Dec 2025. Faces up to 15 years. [14] |
| Joshua Hartness, 45 Colebrook, NH | Border Patrol | Possession of child sexual abuse material. | Sentenced 25 months (Dec 2025) [16] |
| Unnamed agent | CBP | Sexual assault of woman in Austin. | Arrest warrant issued Feb 2026 |
| Unnamed agent | Border Patrol | Soliciting sex from minor (officer posing as girl in NJ). | Arrested Jul 2025 |
These are the people entrusted with enforcing the law. These are the people shooting civilians, detaining citizens, and separating families. The institution is rotten from within.
III. The Hypocrisy of "Law and Order"
On his first day in office, President Trump issued a blanket pardon for every person charged or convicted in connection with the January 6th attack—nearly 1,600 people—during which over 140 police officers were injured [6] [7].
According to analysis by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), at least 33 pardoned insurrectionists have been rearrested, charged, or sentenced for other crimes since January 6, 2021 [15]:
- 6 pardoned rioters charged with child sex crimes (sexual assault, CSAM)
- 2 pardoned rioters charged with rape
- 5 pardoned rioters charged with illegal weapons possession (at least 2 had prior domestic violence convictions)
- 5 pardoned rioters charged with DUI (2 cases resulted in fatalities)
- 4 pardoned rioters have reoffended AFTER receiving their pardons
Pardoned Rioters with Violent Criminal Histories
| Pardoned Individual | Prior/Other Criminal Conduct | Jan. 6 Actions |
|---|---|---|
| Peter Schwartz | 38 prior convictions, including assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence (biting wife's forehead, punching her). | Assaulted police with pepper spray. Sentenced to 14+ years, freed by pardon. |
| Matthew Huttle | Child abuse (beat 3-year-old son so severely the child couldn't sit for a week), multiple DUIs. | Entered restricted grounds. Killed by police days after pardon when he resisted arrest while armed. |
| Theodore Middendorf | Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a 7-year-old child. Sentenced to 19 years, registered sex offender. | Struck a Capitol window with a flagpole. |
| David Daniel | Currently charged with Production of Child Pornography involving a prepubescent minor. | Assaulted police officers. Charges dismissed by Trump's DOJ after pardon. |
| Christopher Moynihan | Charged with felony threatening to murder Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (Oct 2025)—AFTER receiving pardon. | Pardoned for Jan 6 charges. |
| Nathan Pelham | Fired on police when they came to arrest him. | Pardoned for Jan 6 charges. |
| Brent Holdridge | Charged with burglary (May 2025)—AFTER receiving pardon. | Pardoned for Jan 6 charges. |
| Zachary Alam | Charged with breaking and entering (May 2025)—AFTER receiving pardon. | Pardoned for Jan 6 charges. |
"I'm just afraid that I'm going to come home from work one night and he's going to be right there."
Trump himself admitted it would be "very, very cumbersome" to review all 1,500 cases [7]. So he didn't. Child rapists and cop-beaters walk free while the administration claims to stand for "law and order."
IV. The Epstein Files: Protecting Perpetrators Over Victims
After initially resisting the congressionally mandated release, the Department of Justice published 3.5 million pages of Epstein documents in a manner that exposed victims to further harm [8] [9].
- Unredacted Victim Information: Names, faces, bank account numbers, and Social Security numbers of victims were published [10]
- Release of Nude Photos: The DOJ published unredacted nude photos of women and girls
- Possible CSAM: Images that investigators had flagged as "POSSIBLE CSAM" (Child Sexual Abuse Material) were released [9]
"The single most egregious violation of victim privacy in one day in United States history."
One victim reported receiving death threats after her private financial information was published [10]. The DOJ blamed "technical or human error."
The documents revealed over 1,000 mentions of Trump, including unverified assault allegations compiled by the FBI, and confirmation that Trump flew on Epstein's private plane—contradicting his previous denials [8].
Was this gross incompetence? Or a deliberate choice to prioritize the protection of powerful individuals over the safety and dignity of victims? Either answer is damning.
Conclusion
Diogenes never found his honest man. This report does not expect to either.
What it does find is a pattern: 30+ shootings by immigration agents. 8 dead, including U.S. citizens. Agents convicted of sexual assault, coercion, and child exploitation. Blanket pardons for child sex offenders and cop-beaters. And a catastrophic release of documents that exposed trafficking victims to further harm.
This is not partisan. This is documented. Every claim in this report is sourced to official government records, DOJ press releases, court filings, or extensively vetted investigative journalism.
The lamp is lit. The question is whether anyone is willing to look.
